Objectives of the Department:
- To create social awareness among groups and communities about their problems and felt needs
- Registration, strengthening, monitoring and financial assistance of voluntary social welfare agencies
- Filtering and control over voluntary Social Welfare Agencies through National Action Plan. Pick over corrupt, dead, inactive and inefficient NGOs with a view to promoting and developing good and efficient NGOs in supplementing the Social Services Programs of the Government.
- Socio-Economic empowerment of masses (Especially women)
- Making efforts through motivation and advocacy campaigns for strong public opinion against all common social evils and eradication of social problems & unfair customs, such as bribery, gambling, drug addiction prostitution, beggary, violence against women, child labor etc.
- Provision of services in calamities and emergencies
- Provision of services to the neglected segments of the society i.e. widows, orphans, disabled and elderly people.
- Organize urban and rural communities in promotion of community development programs thus ensuring their voluntary participation in socio economic development activities on self help basis for their own common good and according to their local felt needs
- Promotion of Education i.e. Special Education and Technical Education
- Rehabilitation of inmates/prisoners ( their counseling through Education and Technical training in diversity of trades)
- Rehabilitation of baggers and drug addicts
- Empowerment of females ( their counseling through Education and Technical training in diversity of trades and provision of legal aids/assistance to the destitute females of the Dar-ul-Aman, Quetta)
- treatment/therapy of disables and healthcare/ medical assistance to needy patients in major hospitals of the province
- Provision of shelter to homeless Senior Citizens (male/female)
- Promote sustainable socio economic development through multi sectoral and multidimensional approaches, like community development and mobilization of community resources for meeting the social needs and solving local problems, particularly in the rural areas.
- Provide institutional, training & rehabilitation services for economically and socially oppressed and vulnerable groups such as widows, orphans, destitute, the disabled, women and children in suffering.
- Expansion of arrangements and services to increase opportunities of assessment, training and rehabilitation of the disabled, and trying to enhance the percentage of their reserve 2% quota upto 5%.
